Late summer gems

Wow, I've been spectacularly neglecting my blog of late. Instead I've been concentrating my efforts on enjoying these last few weeks of summer, even as I write I can see the first few hints of red and brown creeping into the leaves of the tree outside my window. Whilst I do love Autumn, I'm not quite ready to submit to its charms.

To keep me in the summery mood I thought I'd share some pictures of festivals, camp fires and Ferris wheels!!!

Beautiful bunting at a sun drenched Green man festival

Ferris wheel rides!

Stunning cliff top walk from Woody Bay, North Devon

The slopes covered in a carpet of stunning purple heather

Not a bad view from our picnic spot

Our camp at Caffyns Farm

One of the best things about the site is they allow campfires!!!

New 'Trees in the mist' pieces

On my latest visit to Cornwall I produced these two collaborative pieces of glass with my dad. He made the beautiful bowls and then I worked on them cold, masking off the tree design and sandblasting the colour away to create a relief.

I'm really pleased with them, it's such a great change to work in a completely different medium, I will definitely be trying out some more ideas when I get the chance.

To find out more about my dad's glass blowing skills and see more of his work, check out their website here.

The sea, the sea!!

We just got back from a little break in (for once) sunny Cornwall where we had a lovely time spent with family, swimming in the sea, gorging on cream teas and picnicking on the beach. So before I get back to reality and knuckle down to some proper work I thought I would share some of my snaps with you.
