A little progress

After managing to flog all of the wobbly little glasses I made a few weeks back I thought I'd better make some more. This time we decided to have a play with a bit of colour and the result is this little bunch of beauties. Still a little on the wonky side to say the least, but I think they are quite fun and a perfect way to practice, practice, practice......

Today's lesson was in making perfume bottles. I think I succeeded in making the smallest perfume bottle ever created, not my intention, but an achievement nonetheless! Pictures to follow soon :o)

Poppy x

Yesterday was a very sad day as we had to say goodbye to our beautiful cat Poppy. She was the sweetest most kind natured little creature and she will be sadly missed. Here she is as she often was, lazing in the warm sunshine. This is how I'll remember her.

Now I know it's nowhere near Christmas, but I have finally gotten round to listing these baubles on my etsy shop. They have been hand blown by my Dad and then I have applied the sandblasted snowflake and star designs. Each one is completely unique and individual. I also have a some available on-line here.

I have to admit I'm feeling rather smug. Yesterday we popped out for a little day trip to probably one of the most stunning beaches I've ever been lucky enough to visit! We parked in the pretty little village of Treen and then headed out towards Logan rock before descending the rocky path down to Pednvounder beach. White sand, incredibly clear turquoise water and beautiful rock formations. I can't quite believe I have never been there before, but one things for sure I'll definitely be going again and this time I'm gong to brave the freezing water and go for a excuses! :o)

Mr Postman

I was sorting through some of my old things in a loft clear out and found this little gem! I can't quite work out how old I would have been when I drew it but really made me smile when I stumbled across it. I thought I would share it with you to brighten up this grey and rainy morning.

Today I'm planning on getting out my drawing pencils for the first time in ages, lets hope I can come up with something as imaginative as this! :o)

First attempts

I have finally got round to taking some snaps of my first couple of weeks worth of glass blowing lessons. I have grouped them by day to so you can hopefully see some signs of development. The latter ones are definitely not quite as heavy or wobbly as some of my earlier attempts, which is the idea, so altogether I'm pretty pleased. I still have a very long way to go, but a little gentle improvement each day is good enough for me at this stage :o)
